“The Woman in the Yard” (In theaters Mar. 28 via Universal Pictures) — “Carry-On” director Jaume Collet-Serra heads back to horror with this spooky family drama. When a woman draped in black sits down in a family’s front yard in the middle of the day, she sure seems to be the harbinger of doom. Early footage looks handsome and the mystery sounds compelling enough to keep engaged.

“The Rule of Jenny Pen” (In theaters Mar. 7 via Shudder) — Geoffrey Rush and John Lithgow star in this bizarre and bloody murder mystery set in a retirement home. The duo square off, as Rush plays a sharp judge rendered semi-paralyzed after a stroke and Lithgow plays an off-kilter resident wielding a puppet and an appetite to ruin the lives of others. A small, shocking movie, “Jenny Pen” is a unique addition to this year’s horror roster.

“Opus” (In theaters Mar. 14 via A24) — Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich go head-to-head in this cult thriller. Malkovich plays an elusive pop superstar, who invites Edebiri along with a handful of journalists and influencers to his compound to hear his new album. But once creepy things start happening on the trip, writer-director Mark Anthony Green’s story kicks into overdrive. (Read Variety’s review here.)

“The Buffalo Hunter Hunter” by Stephen Graham Jones (available 3/18 via S&S/Saga Press) — The author of “My Heart Is a Chainsaw” and “I Was a Teenage Slasher” is back with a historical thriller about a vampire in the early 1900s. With a keen eye to historical detail, Jones delivers another strong blend of horror and native culture.

“Splinter Effect” by Andrew Ludington (available 3/18 via Minotaur Books) — A splash of sci-fi pulp, Ludington’s time-travelling jaunt evokes the fun of Indiana Jones adventures. An archeologist travels to ancient Rome to retrieve an important menorah and must battle a competitive treasure hunter as well as scores of historical adversaries who want the artifact for their own. Not horror, but genre fans who need something light will be happy to spend the afternoon on this trip.

Hughes Turned Down A Generous Offer For Armia
The Montreal Canadiens didn’t trade anyone at the deadline, and some believed that if GM Kent Hughes didn’t move, it was because nobody was willing to pay the price he had set for his assets, even though he stated he had decided to keep the team together as requested by captain Nick Suzuki.

Olivia Munn pays heartwarming tribute to late agent Tony Etz
Olivia Munn is heartbroken after the death of her literary agent Tony Etz. The 'Newsroom' star has paid tribute to her agent, who died on Monday (10.03.25) aged 64 after battling Chordoma, a rare form of bone cancer. She wrote on her Instagram Story: "This makes me incredibly sad. This is my literary agent who passed away from cancer yesterday; but that's not how he deserves to be remembered. "He should be remembered as one of the good guys in our business. They didn't get better and kinder than Tony. "Rest in love, my friend. My thoughts are with his sweet family." In a second post, Olivia - who previously battled breast cancer - simply added: "We all love you, Tony. F*** CANCER." Tony spent three decades at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), with his career seeing him represent several directors, actors, producers and writers, while he was also involved in shows like 'Grey's Anatomy', 'House' and 'Jackass'. Almost two years ago, he requested to write his own obituary, and summed up his career in two lines. As quoted by Deadline, he said: "Over 30 years as a packaging agent, I was foundational in the sale of 'Jackass', 'House', 'Lost', 'Rescue Me', 'Big Little Lies', 'Jury Duty' and 'Tracker' and dozens of other shows. “And I have been a proud citizen of the best city state in the business.” He married fellow TV agent Nancy Etz in 1999 during her time at ICM, and she would join him at CAA seven years later, while they went onto have son Alex together. In a tribute, Peter Tolan - who co-created 'Rescue Me' and 'The Job' - hailed him as "deeply mourned" and "irreplaceable". He added: "He defended those of us who were fortunate enough to be his clients with a ferocity most of our own mothers would be unable to duplicate.” While longtime client Paul Attanasio said: "He had the sensitivity to understand what was unique to me (which I would constantly doubt) but then the breadth of vision to understand how that fit in the larger world (which I didn’t understand at all). "That was the secret ingredient in whatever I was able to accomplish in television. I couldn’t have done it without him.”

Justin Baldoni's attorney addresses potential settlement with Blake Lively
Justin Baldoni's attorney insisted they may not be open to a settlement with Blake Lively. The actress, 36, and 49-year-old filmmaker have been embroiled in a bitter labyrinthine legal dispute for months after she accused him of harassment while they made domestic abuse movie ‘It Ends With Us’. Appearing on Matthew Belloni's podcast 'The Town', Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman was asked "what it would require for this to go away", as he referred to the "potential for the circus and the damage to both sides". But Freedman argued: "You keep referring to it as a circus and I get it. You see a lot of cases. "You see a lot of things, but the reality is this is not a circus when you go through an experience like this. "I’ve represented a lot of people in the worst moments of their career, the worst moments of their life. Justin has been destroyed by this." Freedman suggested "the only way" to really attempt to prove his client's innocence could be in court. He continued: "In this day and age, the only way that you can truly get back is to prove your innocence and that’s what we’re actively working to [do]. "That may only be able to be done in a courtroom." Justin, 41, completed filming on 'It Ends With Us' in early 2024 and started a press tour in August, and after fans noted Blake did not participate in interviews with him or attend the film’s premiere. Blake then filed a sexual harassment complaint against Justin – alleging that he and his agents conducted a smear campaign against her. Her lawsuit against him is set to go to trial in March 2026, following her initial filing in New York Federal Court. Blake - who played Justin's on-screen love interest in the movie - previously told the New York Times newspaper: "I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted." Justin - who also directed the 2024 romantic drama film - has denied the allegations, with his lawyer describing the claims as "categorically false". Bryan, who is acting as a lawyer for the actor and his Wayfarer Studios production company, told Variety: "These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media."
