Did a Thrilling FBI Just Stealth-Introduce a Love Interest for Maggie?

The following contains spoilers from the Feb. 18 episode of CBS’ FBI.

Though a bit late for Valentine’s Day, this Tuesday’s episode of CBS’ FBI just might have shot Cupid’s arrow in Special Agent Maggie Bell’s general direction.

In “Manhunt,” intelligence analyst Elise Taylor (played by the underrated Vedette Lim) put a sex trafficking ring on the team’s radar, and even ventured into the field to help run a sting operation. Alas, because of an anxious CI, the sting went sideways and the trafficker and his brother made a run for it — with the young girl, Analis, they were about to sell off.

Before the baddies fully vanished, Maggie made eye contact through a subway car window with a distraught Analis, and promised the girl she would find her.

Leads were scarce until a 911 dispatcher named Joel reached out to Maggie, with Analis on the line. Analis had managed to get away from the trafficker, and with his locked phone dialed 911. Analis didn’t have much information to impart, save for the fact that one of the rooms the trafficked girls are brought to has a dragon on the wall, and that at one point in being moved around she saw the city from across a river.

The trafficker caught up to Analis while she was still on the line with Joel and Maggie, and we heard a gunshot; he then promised to do the same to Analis’ sister, Sofia. Maggie was devastated to have failed Analis, but was resolved to save Sofia. While she and Scola chased leads, Joel checked in over the phone, offering to do what he could to help.

After catching both the trafficker’s brother and a henchman, Maggie played the two of them against each other in interrogation. She managed to flip the brother, after which she and the team closed in on the boss. Before choosing suicide-by-cop, the trafficker revealed that Analis was in fact alive. Joel put through another call from Analis, who was in a car trunk somewhere. The team tracked the call to a junkyard, and Maggie and Scola were able to pull Analis from a trunk before the car was crunched in a compactor. (Um, hello, who had just turned on the compactor…?)

Analis was unconscious and blue, as were her nails. Overhearing this over the phone, Joel — a former EMT — led Maggie through a good old-fashioned field thoracostomy, where she inserted a needle between two ribs to remove air and re-inflate the girl’s lung.

Later at the hospital, as Maggie watched over a recuperating Analis (while also lamenting failing Sofia, who had been found dead), a tall, conventionally attractive man came looking for Agent Maggie Bell; Maggie recognized from his voice that it was Joel. Maggie thanked him for all of his help throughout the ordeal. When Maggie said that she planned to camp out there at the hospital until Analis was out of the woods, Joel asked her, “What makes hospital coffee better?” She quipped, “powdered sugar,” but Joel countered (wink-wink), “When somebody else is buying.” And Maggie did not seem opposed to the idea!

FBI fans, what’s your early read on Joel the EMT-turned-911 dispatcher, played by Bill Barrett (from The Oval and First Wives Club)?

Tom Sandoval wants to 'move on' from scandal
Tom Sandoval wants to "move on" from his cheating scandal. The 42-year-old reality star split from Ariana Madix in 2023 after it emerged that he had a months-long affair with his 'Vanderpump Rules' co-star Rachel Leviss - but Tom has now drawn a line under the scandal and is instead focusing on his future. He told Us Weekly: "It’s been two years; I want to move on from that and continue with my life." Tom became a public hate figure in the immediate aftermath of the cheating scandal, but the reality star now feels the "hate has died down". He shared: "I want to leave that stuff in the past. "I’m sure there’s still people out there who hold on to that - I know there are - but the hate has died down for sure. Whether they’re laughing with me [or] laughing at me, at least they’re laughing, and that’s what I love." Tom was in a relationship with Ariana from 2013 until 2023, and the celebrity duo actually still own a home together. However, Tom has confirmed that they're currently in the process of finding a solution to the issue. He explained: "It’s been a process. It’s definitely in the works, and I’m looking forward to moving on and closing - like, really fully closing - that chapter. It’s closed in my life, but this is the only thing that’s sort of [still] there." Despite this, Tom also admitted that he continues to be reminded of his past mistakes. The reality star - who is dating model Victoria Lee Robinson - shared: "My girlfriend, Victoria, gets a lot of stuff that’s unfair to her, which I feel really bad about. The only thing she’s guilty of is loving me. I wish people would leave her alone. Save it for me!"
